What do Mastery, Near Mastery, and No Mastery mean?
Mastery, Near Mastery, and No Mastery are indicators of overall proficiency in the score report.
The test scores are determined by the number of correct answers. A score for each section (Grammar, Listening, Reading and Vocabulary) is expressed as a percentage of correct answers, and the total score is determined by the average percentage of three sections.
Overall Proficiency Indicators
The following indicators are provided in the score report:
Indicator | Definition |
---|---|
Mastery | 75% or greater in all three sections |
Near Mastery | 75% or greater in two of the three sections |
No Mastery | 75% or greater in fewer than two sections |
Important Notes:
The level of Mastery does not indicate whether a test taker has passed or failed.
These indicators are designed to provide insight into a test taker's strengths and areas for improvement.
